Dr. Vincent Marmara

Vincent Marmarà is a Statistician and Researcher by profession. He obtained his first degree in Statistics, Operational Research and Mathematics at the University of Malta. He later advanced his studies by obtaining Masters of Science in Statistics at Sheffield University, UK. Furthermore, he has obtained his PhD in Mathematics (Statistics) from the University of Stirling, Scotland. His PhD dissertation title was, “Prediction of infectious disease outbreaks based on limited information”. He has been entrusted with numerous research projects both at a national and international level. He led research groups and analyzed data to a high-level scientific extent.

Dr Marmarà has been carrying out surveys/reports on a daily basis for these past 16 years.  During these past years Vincent worked on various research reports about several topics. Vincent has over 14 years of experience in the Remote Gaming Industry. Furthermore, he occupied several key roles in various organisations.

Dr. Vincent Marmarà lectures topics in relation to Statistics and Mathematics at the University of Malta. Marmarà is a fellow member (FRSS) of the Royal Statistical Society (UK). Dr. Marmarà provided research consultancy services to various organisations and supervised a number of BSc, MBA and MSc research dissertation students at the University of Malta. Vincent published several academic articles on international journals and other scientific surveys in Malta. His main research interests are sampling techniques, epidemiology and health research. Dr. Marmarà currently occupies several positions including: Board member at the Malta Statistics Authority (MSA) and Member of the Governing body of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (FEMA).

He is Malta’s main reporter for ‘Europe Elects’ and took leading roles in Malta in relation to political surveys and mathematical epidemiology. His work is being reported on all the local media with high prominence.
